Wedding Enquiries

8 February 2019 by Ashley Prosser Leave a Comment

***** POTENTIAL BRIDES *****

I wish I had a £1 for every time I’ve heard I wished we had booked you! 😳

Enquiries and potential customers all think differently but usually it comes down to 2 types of people.

Those who I meet in person and those who enquire through the net … over 95% of who I meet in person result in a booking where the price is usually the 3rd or 4th question asked and it’s never been an issue.

Those who enquire through the internet ask for a price before anything else and most of them never respond until somehow I meet them in person and that’s when I hear “I wish I had booked you”.

There’s so much more to receiving a service than the price. Those who are cheap are cheap for a reason, some examples from my experience are because it’s just a part time job or maybe they’re new wanting the experience, others I know who are cheap aren’t professional, they let people down last minute and don’t offer a contract, more often than not whatever money that has been paid is gone and you will struggle to get it back, this applies to many different services, not just for a magician 🎩

These all lead on to various things and for myself I guarantee all my customers loyalty, professionalism, value for money and that I will be the best money you spend for your event for the most amazing experience or you have my full money back guarantee. 😊

Try not to make a decision just on a price because it’s not what you had in mind but always meet the supplier and then decide if they’re suitable for you and you’re comfortable with them.

From my own experience when I got married our band were the most expensive and we checked a few out that came within our ‘planned’ budget but none of em came close to whom we booked, who were well over what we financed for, I guess when you want something bad enough you find a way to get it.

This isn’t about me, this is advice for you so you don’t regret that cheap booking who turned out to be a bad experience that didn’t deliver what you expected. 😡

I know that sometimes you can get a great experience from someone cheap but those instances are few and far between 😉🙈😳

MagicAsh’s Awards

30 October 2017 by Ashley Prosser Leave a Comment

My first award is from my first talent competition I entered which was The Welsh Factor, I am the second welsh magician to have entered this competition . I auditioned in the Spring of 2017 and got the phone call I’d made the quarter finals, I competed at this one and made it through to the semi finals. This took place in January 2018 and for the first time in the history of the 9yrs of Wales’ largest talent competition I was the first magician to make the National final which took place on April the 15th 2018.

My nerves were upside down as I was about to perform in front of an audience of no less than a 1000.

With a few audience members brave enough to come up to the stage I performed a fun magic effect and then raised the bar, by putting a blind fold on and executing some mind reading mentalism which was a success …… A few hours later after everyone finished performing I was announced as ‘The Welsh Factor Entertainer 2017/18’ Winner.

Another competition I entered was “Tywi’s Got Talent” which was part of the Llandeilo festival of senses 2017. I auditioned with some other wonderfully talented people, I qualified through to the final in which I performed twice and later I was announced as the overall winner. I was then asked, as a magician in Swansea, to perform on the main stage at the festival which was held in November 2017.

What a fantastic event that was

  • In 2017 I was shortlisted for the category of best entertainer at the best of welsh wedding awards. On the night I was very humbled to be announced as the winner!
  • 2018 I was notified as being shortlisted for a brand new category of Wales’ best wedding magician, the results of this were delivered on November the 18th, where I found out I was voted as the Best magician in Wales 2018, an incredible achievement I only dreamt about!!!

Looking for a magician in Cardiff, a magician in Swansea or a London magician, you’re in the right place

Advice for photographers in capturing that shot of magic!!!

20 July 2017 by Ashley Prosser Leave a Comment

Here’s an interesting article I read on another magicians website that I asked if I could share.

My thanks goes to Alex Michael Cahill for giving me the thumbs up.

As a close up magician I often attend many weddings, corporate events and private parties where there is usually a photographer present.

I often see some of the photos of myself performing after the event and some are amazing and some are terrible.

So, if you are a photographer and you are at an event with a close up/table magician what do you need to know, to get awesome shots for the client.

TOP TIPS

  • Most magic tricks have a ‘set up’ where a little magic happens….but be ready for the big finish. The best photos are of the magic happening and the spectator reacting.
  • Great photos of magicians performing are of SPECTATORS. You should not be watching so much of the magic, you should be watching the open jaws, or the group applause etc
  • Post production – look carefully at the photograph just to make sure, the method isn’t exposed or there isn’t that one person with their arms crossed or food all over their face.
  • Speak to the magician about what they are doing. They should tell you the plan of attack so you know what not to miss. E.g a few little tricks for the guests, a huge trick for the bride and groom, followed but the best ever trick in front of everyone. You don’t want to be changing your lens when something is happening
  • Be careful of your angles – you may want to take the perfect photo but be careful that the photo doesn’t expose the method
  • Don’t be too close to the magician – not only may the magician feel uncomfortable spectators could spot you and lead to false or no reaction photos

Remember a close up magician is a friend, they can help you to do a great job in every way. Over the years, I have carried the odd bag, fetched someone from a toilet, referred work etc
